How is this going to help me? DivList simply encourages other search engines to visit all of the pages on your site. While doing so, we make suggestions as to the content that those search engines are going to find on the page that they visit. This helps to increase your page rank for related keywords. We also have consumer traffic searching our listings so your site will receive hits from our own visitors. How is DivList different than a directory or link page? DivList is, essentially, a searchable directory. However, because of the nature of our site, links are able to be spidered along with their corresponding keywords and description tags. Search engines then follow those links with the suggested tags saved in an array. If the page that you are linking to contains the key phrases in the array, they will list your site based on those words. How often do search engines visit the DivList web site? Every day! Sometimes many times in one day. The reason is that most of our clients submit DivList to various other search engines on a regular basis in order to prompt those engines to spider their links. After spidering their links, the robots will then proceed through the rest of our site based on their programmed search algorithms. Each search engine has a fixed number of links that they will follow but in general, they index all links on the DivList site. How will the search engines find my link on your site? Our site map files are dynamically generated each time a new submission is received. We also dynamically build and populate our ROR files (Resources of a Resource) and robots.txt files to notify search engines of our updated directory structure. Since your links are contained in a virtual directory, the search engines can spider every link in your submission to us. Isn't DivList considered a doorway page by other search engines? No. DivList is not considered a doorway page because it requires the user to click a link to continue on. We also do not change content based on the search engine that is spidering our links. Finally, our links contain valid information on the search term being spidered. |
